2022 F-SERIES Field Blend

FRUIT SELECTION

The 2022 F-Series Field Blend was made up of 5 different varieties all organically grown on our home estate. The varieties include Viognier, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc. Soils here are of the old river bed type; fist sized stones composed of greywacke (a hard, dark type of sandstone streaked with quartz and feldspar), mixed alluvial gravel and silt. Fruit is all hand harvested.

WINEMAKING

Hand-picked grapes were de-stemmed and remained in contact with their skins for about 12 hours before pressing. The resulting juice was transferred to a mixture of seasoned oak puncheons and stainless steel barrel where it fermented spontaneously. The wine was then left on gross lees without a SO2 addition for 10 months to develop body and texture before being blended and bottled.
