Framingham Marlborough Pinot Gris draws inspiration stylistically from the Alsace region of France. We pick the grapes late to impart some richness and focus heavily on the developing texture by using seasoned wood and lees aging to enhance mouthfeel.
WINE MAKING
Fruit was sourced from 3 different sites. 50% of the fruit was destemmed and kept on skins for 12 hours to impart flavour and texture before being pressed off. The remainder was whole bunch pressed. Juices were treated oxidatively and were racked cloudy. 50% went to oak barriques and 50% to stainless-steel tanks. Components were aged on full ferment lees for 5 months prior to blending and bottling.
TASTE
Aromatics of red apple, nectarine and flinty savoury elements. Intense, richly textured and supply palate with elements of stone fruit and ginger whilst finishing with vivid quartz like persistence.

Very pleasant drop, outside on the deck with some smoked salmon bites!!
So glad you liked this Derek - the nectarine and pear character would have paired beautifully with the savoury creaminess of the Smoked Salmon!
Many thanks - The Framingham Team!
My wife loves this wine. Says its her favourite example of a Pinot Gris.
Yes, it's a beautiful Pinot Gris, showing richness and texture with a bright finish. That touch of oak gives it a lovely layer of body - You're in good company as it wone a Gold Medal at the International Wine Show. Thanks Michael - the Framingham team
Such amazing and friendly staff out at Framingham. Their Rose and Pinot Gris is so delicious, I’m going to have to buy another mixed case 🙈
